Direct Giving 2019 Season Planning Heats UP…

Planning Upper West Region of Ghana Picking Up Speed!

[11/25/2018] Abdul Salam Mahamadu (aka cryptolib):

I met with the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Wa West, his planning officer, HR and SendGhana District coordinator. After I presented our project, you needed to be there to witness the excitement. The DCE confirmed the district was the poorest in Ghana and that he is willing to support us in all directions. He will dedicate an employee to work with us. He also added that Unicef was already in the district, but their focus is on education and health and that he will facilitate our partnership with Unicef. I told him how we want to the government involved and how he will be of benefit to making it happen. He was highly excited and said he will personally brief the president (of Ghana) about us in his meeting with him next week. He (the DCE) will be holding a trisec meeting in his district the following week that’s next two weeks, to discuss our entrance with all departments of the district and solicit their support and cooperation with us in discharging our duties. He added he will call me after the meeting to bring a letter for both of us to sign that GiveDirect and District Assembly, then we will prepare a memorandum of understanding to guide us all in exercising our duties collaboratively. Basically that was what happened (on my trip this week to Wa West) and the HR of the district offered to be a volunteer in the project and that he will be available anytime we need him in any ways.

Poverty incidence is highest in Wa West (92.4%) followed by Wa East (83.8%) and Sissala West (81.2%) districts. Poverty depth is relatively high in Wa West (59.0%). I think the Wa West District will be the best for us. This is from Ghana Statistical Service poverty map/report

This is wonderful news… I wish I could have been there… It sounds like you had a very productive meeting and a lot of agreement was made already… GREAT WORK!!! It’s also great that we have the help we need in the region, as the need seems great as you say… One concern that I want you to be careful of is that of “personal agendas”… When we create the “memorandum of understanding to guide us all in exercising our duties collaboratively” it’s going to be critical that you make sure everyone knows via the document this is a GiveDirect Project supported and documented by the DCE and Unicef staff… Just so, we gain the “brand’ recognition and credit is given where it is deserved… That my friend is to you, the core team that supports you and our donors.  🙏

Yes with the MoU, i am sure we will draft that so I will gladly do that with you so we state exactly what we want done and everyone’s role. The DCE is only going to give us the guidelines/procedure to follow since this document may as well be shared with the Office of the president and the DCE know how best they communicate.

Excellent can’t wait for our next steps… We are simply here to end global extreme poverty using the best blockchain technology possible…. If we remember that and act appropriately we are unstoppable. You are doing the work the universe has intended you to do, that is clear and I’m here to support you in every way possible… 🙇‍🙏
